    Havana Airport

José Martí International Airport (IATA: HAV, ICAO: MUHA), sometimes known by its former name Rancho-Boyeros Airport, is located 15 km (9 mi) southwest of Havana, Cuba, and is a hub for Cubana de Aviación, Aerogaviota, and Aero Caribbean, and former Latin American hub for Aeroflot Soviet Airlines.[2] It is Cuba's main international and domestic gateway, and serves several million passengers each year. The airport lies in the municipality of Boyeros and connects Havana with the rest of the Caribbean, North, Central and South America, Europe, and one destination in Africa. It is named in memory of patriot and poet José Martí. In the 1960s the airport was bombed by B-26 aircraft from Brigade 2506, a CIA-sponsored group of Cuban exiles attempting to liberate Cuba from Fidel Castro. Cubans are not allowed to own aircraft or use the airport for either private or commercial flight. Only government-owned aircraft are allowed to use the facilities. There are currently four passenger terminals in use at the airport, plus a freight terminal.[3] Terminal 1 is used primarily for domestic flights. Terminal 2 opened in 1988, primarily for charter flights to the United States. Ten years later on April 27, 1998, the International Terminal 3 was opened by Canada's then-Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien, and former Cuban president, Fidel Castro. International Terminal 3 offers many modern facilities and jetways that the former international Terminal 1 did not provide. Terminal 5 is operated by Aerocaribbean. Today, Copa Airlines is the foreign airline with most flights to the airport, operating 34 flights a week (roughly 5 daily flights) from Panama City, Panama, and Bogota, Colombia. The airport is operated by Empresa Cubana de Aeropuertos y Servicios Aeronáuticos (ECASA).

    “Very good hotel! ”
This is a very good hotel in general, needs a lot of improvements, but now is comfortable, nicely managed. This hotel has the most beatiful views in Habana, if you go at sunset to the 11th floor for a drink or coffee, you'll die with the view. The swimming pool is spectacular, recently renewed. Panorama has the best internet connection in Habana. Love this place

“Good View . Quiet area ”
This hotel is located in the Miramar area. This an area among the best kept and affluent area of La Habana. Parallel to the 5th avenue, where the most beautiful houses of Havana used to be. These houses, now, has become Embassies for countries from Africa and the Middle East .The hotel has an impressive view of the Caribean Sea from practically all the rooms. If you can afforded request room with gallery usually rooms that ended with "A" or "B". The staff is very helpful and they are always willing to help. The lobby is small but has a bar that can become very busy. On the last floor of the hotel there is a piano bar that open at night.Overall, and if you don't want to be in the Old Havana area. This is your best bet

“Beautiful Hotel and very good service ! ”
We just came back from a 3 day stay at the Habana Panorama where we had a great time. The service provided by the staff working at the front desk, buffets, restaurant, bars, maids was second to none. During our stay we had the pleasure of meeting the hotel Executive Chef Mardoqueo who treated us royally; we also met the Director of the hotel, Mr. Benedicto, another beautiful person who along with the rest of the staff know and enjoy making the hotel guests feel right at home. Our thanks to Dr. Madeline and her assistant Silvia for a great job treating my wife for a food infection that she caught in Varadero, thanks also to Lislaidys, Duany and Gisella our favorite servers. To make a long story short: this is a great hotel with great and prompt service if the need arises, very good food and good transportation to the city center, the view from the hotel is awesome as well. We will definitely book this hotel next time we travel to Cuba and we recommend it to anyone travelling to Habana, you will not regret it.

The hotel was old with a cold atmosphere. The room and the bathroom were not so clean. The second day the towels changed were even dirty. I only save the breakfast. I wouldn't give 4 stars to this hotel.

We had prepaid 2 rooms for 4 Nights and one of the rooms had a smell of fungus. Disgusting. had to turn og the air condition and open Windows because the hotel was full. Got a New room the day after , smaller and lower Down but kleen and not smell of fungus. We told them that it is a Health risk but nobody seemed to care.. Like most placese in Cuba, service is unknown. Othervise it is a Nice hotel, nice pool, and good Italian restaurant. A bit har beds for 4 stars hotel but nice pillows.. Not far from sigarshop, marina and Beach . We stayed at Habana Libre at arrival and that is closer to Old havana.

    “Food Dreadful ”
We stayed in this hotel as part of a trip to Havana from the Cayo Cocos for two nights. It is clearly a transit hotel and most people are there for a few nights. First impressions, good, a nice looking clean hotel. Room on the 10th Floor, the noise from the bar on the 11th, nightmare. As previously stated, try not to be in this floor. However, all of our party was put on to this floor. Room was big and clean, however, the air conditioning made a terrible noise. People were also smoking in the corridors outside rooms, and it just smelt everywhere Food, terrible, the buffet resturant, is like a canteen, staff not particularly attentive, and everything was empty and we are not late eaters. It seemed like the staff could not keep up with the amount of people staying there. Two people from our party were very ill. It appeared that they had both eaten some chicken from the buffet and it must have been undercooked. We have reported this to both our Tour Rep and Thomas Cook. If you can stay somewhere else... go there!

“Avoid this hotel if you can!”
We stayed here on a two-night trip from Cayo Coco. Awful hotel. Terrible food - we only had one meal and decided to do without after that experience. Everything was cold and the staff totally disinterested. Room services trays were never removed from outside bedroom doors the entire time we were there. The room was shabby and the lighting on the corridors towards the bedrooms was non-existent. Told the Thomas Cook rep upon our return to Cayo Coco and she wasn't really interested. I'd go to Havana again, but we'll never stay at the Panorama again

“Cheap and covers the basic ”
We stayed overnight in havana and booked a room at this hotel. I'm told its one of the nicest 4* hotels in Havana. If you're looking for basic and cheap this would be the place to stay. It was clean and the beds were firm (which we like) the lobby and bar area were fun. There's a reason why it's a 4* and unfortunately I couldn't give it even that. There was a hole in the ceiling above the shower, there was mild growing on the wall by the window. Our room was a connecting room which was hollow and we could hear our neighbours perfectly. The buffet area wasn't very clean (dirt and grime on the walls) and needed repairs, lastly the pool had tiles missing. If we had the option and budget I would have stayed in one of the iberostar hotels in havana but if that's not the case this will cover the basics.

“Nice, but a little out of the way ”
We stayed here as part of an overnight Havana excursion from Varadero. One night is not a long time to get a real feel for the place, but it was a pleasant place to stop at. About the facility: ? Food was not remarkable, but not bad either -- typical Cuban 3-star buffet. Lots of choices for breakfast and for dinner. ? The room was clean and in good order. Everything worked as it should, and the decor was reasonable modern. Beds are the standard "Konfort" very firm mattresses you see in most Cuban resorts. My bad back LOVES these beds, but those used to a pillow top might not be so appreciative. ? The lobby is very fancy -- a nice fusion of classic and modern. Small art gallery off to one side, comfortable chaises in the lounge area, and even two things you don't see much of in Cuba: Wi-fi and an ATM! The elevators are very interesting, albeit quite small. With your luggage, don't expect to fit more than two at a time in them! ? The pool area is beautiful. Lots of loungers, the pool is lighted at night, and the area is fully contained like a mini-resort. ? Staff were courteous and friendly. We didn't ask for much, but we didn't feel their there was any need to either, because they already had everything we wanted covered. Then there's the location: ? It is on the water front, but it's not on the beach. The coast line in this area of Havana is all "dog's teeth" -- sharp volcanic rock. It's quite a distance from the Malecon too, so an impromptu stroll is not very realistic. ? You need a car or to be part of a tour to get around from here because it much too far to walk to any of the major attractions in Havana. It would take a good two hours to walk to the Capitol area, even longer to the Cathedral Square. ? The only thing it's reasonably close to is the Tropicana. (approx. 10 mins by taxi). Overall, we enjoyed the Panorama but next time, I think we'd pick somewhere closer to Centro. -- note: review says February 2014, should be February 2010.

“Ok place for an overnight ”
Stayed there on an overnight into Havana from Varadero. First upon check-in was given a room on the ninth floor room 921. Small elevators that limited no of people to a max of 4. Waited 10 mins for elevator. Got to the room, key did not work. Back to the elevator/lobby, have key reprogrammed Traveling all day needed a shower No hot water! Went to supper, the food was Ok at the buffet and the staff was courteous. Had a drink at the bar, this is well appointed, with good service. Next day still needed a shower NO WATER. Went to breakfast Service was fine. In closing I understand that these things happen from time 2 time Just thought you should know.

I stayed in this property for four days and it was very good. The lobby has wifi and its very fast. the pool was very clean, but the weekend was crazy, extremely crowded. I have no complaint about the room. It was big enough and the housekeeper was very nice with me. I would recommend this property to my friends. food was ok. People in the front desk were very kind and professional.

    “poor choice ”
I just stayed 2 nights in this hotel.Me and my Family were coming back from a few days in Varadero and decided to stay closer to the family. The hotel lobby had no air conditioning and no fresh air was flowing, the pool was overcrowded the first night and second night was closed for "cleaning "the entire day.The first day the hotel had no water for 2 hours due to a break in the water system. We never got hot water in our room.Rooms were spacious but just empty spaces. The mattress was hard but I was tired enough not to even feel it.Room was clean but the one our Son got had a dirty half glass of a drink in the refrigerator.Included in the price we had breakfast buffet and dinner which was ok.The only positive points are the views from the hotel.

“2nd time in this hotel ”
We arrived to this hotel on tuesday july 22, after 4 days in varadero and a week in melia cohiba, we decided to finish the last 2 days here since the hotel was close to family and friends. After we checked it we decided to go out for dinner, as we arrived to the hotel there was a mother and a daughter fighting and screaming in the lobby, same that were not staying in the hotel and both were drunk, Security was no where to be seen... not until 10 mins had pass and they had escorted the 2 woman with a minor child is when security showed up. I was staying in the privilege floor, same floor where some of the securities use a room to shower and sleep, or so I assume.. on one occasion we were heading out and seen two security sitting on the floor in front of the room they were staying drinking and smoking and screaming about what they had done the night before. Breakfast was ok and had dinner on thursday night which it was ok, too much salt on most of the food.

    “Love this Hotel! ”
This is my 2nd time in this Hotel, the 1st time in June 2012 I came running away from Hotel "Marina Hemingway" where the service and rooms could not be worst. I got a wonderful welcome on H10 Panorama and I was able even to choose my room (I'm very picky with air conditioning and hot water). I felt in love with this hotel, is economic in comparison with other hotels in Havana. The buffet food could be better, some days it is better than others, I only go to the buffet for breakfast. It also have a free shuttle service to Old Havana. This time July 2014 I chose this hotel for my wedding/honeymoon, when the staff realized that I was getting married in Havana they immediately gave me the honeymoon suit as compliment, this room was AMAZING! I could have not wished for a better room. I find the staff very friendly, in particular Elaine - the receptionist who attended me the 1st time, and thanks to her service in 2012 I selected this hotel in 2014. I will definitely use this hotel for my next trip to Havana.

    “Not great ”
We stayed here for one night as part of a Habana trip from Holguin. Initially the hotel looked great - the lobby area is quite impressive when you walk in. The room was fine and bed comfortable. We went to the pool area which was massively overcrowed and much different to our resort in Holguin. What let this hotel down was the food. Our buffet in the evening was cold and the food really not very nice. The beakfast was also not very good and cold scrambelled egg is not nice. The ladies toilets in lobby area were disgusting and water was everywhere - so trousers got soaked - not nice. We informed staff who were not really interested. I was glad to have been staying for only one night.

    “Nice Enough ”
With the exception of few most of Havana hotels are located in Miramar, at the outskirts of the capital. Yet, Miramar is the place to be, as it is far from city noise, quite for those in need of a good rest and close to the best salsa night club "Casa de Musica". The hotel is not for those looking for nightlife or sight-seeing. It is a place to sleep, have a meal and spend the rest of the day elsewhere. It is not a spotless clean, the rooms need a repair here and there, and the service could be improved. As I stayed just for one night it was nice enough, but for longer visits - I suggest to find a place with more entertaining sou rounding.

This is our 3rd time in Habana and we always start our holiday at this fantastic hotel. I like the atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. We really like were this hotel is situated because you can find anything that you want in all the vicinity: from supermarkets, bars, shopping mall and everything else that you need while staying in Habana. The free shuttle that takes you to old Habana is a great idea ! We enjoyed it more this year because we spent time with people from mostly all over the world watching World Cup games and cheering together - it was a unforgettable experience ! We will surely return next year for our 4th visit - Keep it up as always ! Thanks H10 Habana Panorama

    “Horrible hotel :-( ”
I travelled to Cuba for my honeymoon and had a great time, however, stayed here as part of an organised trip to Havana...thankfully we only stayed here for one night and I got to return to my lovely hotel in Guadelevaca. The shower lead was not long enough to fit the holder on the wall. This was frustrating after a long day of travelling. The tv did not switch on. The mini bar was empty; would have been nice to have at least some water. The staff were so unfriendly. Barman scowled at me when I asked for no ice. Buffet staff could not so much as offer up a hello. Then grimaced at you as you left the buffet! The 'warm' buffet food was stone cold. Eating cold lasagna is gross!! As I said, I only stayed for one night so could put up with it, especially as I had a beautiful hotel to return to, but I'd certainly not recommend this hotel. Very surprised to hear the hotel is supposedly 4 stars!! The only nice thing about the hotel is probably the reception area. Sorry, but wouldn't recommend to stay here

“Panorama Hotel, a great experience. ”
Thanks to Angelica and the entire team at this hotel who went out of their way to accommodate my team of 65 persons who stayed here in June for a conference held at the hotel. It was just perfect, from the check-in to the check-out and I could assure anyone reading these reviews that I never encountered the negatives stated by others. From the buffet breakfast to the dinners and especially the buffet lunches done only for my team, we could ask for nothing more. The staff at all the restaurants were all excellent, polite and helpful The room service was excellent.....always a clean room to come back to at the end of a long day. Though I never had the time to use the pool facilities, walking around revealed a well maintained area. Listening to the musical band-all female- at the pool bar at night was well worth it. The conference area was immaculate every morning notwithstanding what 60 persons can do during an entire day of presentations in a day. I can only fault the location if you wanted to be in or around old Habana all the time but we chose here specifically to get our work done during the day, and those who felt a need to go out at night always had taxis readily available. to Angelica, Yamile and Danisbel just to name a few who made the trip and Conference pleasurable, thank you. You service and attention to our needs were first class and I hope the day would come when I would have the opportunity to return to your Country and your hotel.

We have stayed this in this hotel for 4 nights a week ago. It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel with very friendly hotel people who help you and let you feel that you have a great time. The beds and room were very good so for me the best in Cuba. The breakfast and dinner was from a high quality, tasteful with a lot of choice. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in January 2014. While the check-in took a while we were served a fruit cocktail which was very nice. Our room was quite nice and it was clean. The bar area was comfortable and clean. The selection of food in the restaurant was ok but unfortunately we never got a hot meal, it was just luke warm at best. The staff were very nice and courteous. Overall, the hotel was ok. If the food had of been better we would have rated it a 4 star.

My husband and I have been staying quarterly at Panorama Hotel. We noticed a couple of pleasant upgrades in recent times, in addition to improved room cleaning. The service at the front desk is good and appreciated. Moreover, we would like to praise Dany?s services (Customer Care Service). While in Havana, we normally book trips and hotel accommodation with Mileyris from Gaviota Tour, whose availability and services by explaining the different options and giving excellent advice is very much appreciated. Despite the distance to Old Havana, there's a free shuttle bus 3 times a day from and to the hotel to Old Havana. We?ll surely be back.

The hotel is definitely nice and comfortable, and for the price is definitely one of the best options. Something to take into account is that every place of interest is a taxi away, so if that's an inconvenience, this isn't the place for you, also you should take that into account when building your budget. The food on the restaurants is average at most, and the prices are high in comparison to most restaurants in the area. Wifi cost is about $6 per hour.

“Enjoying our time at the H-10 Panorama in Havana ”
We have stayed at the Panorama numerous times while in Havana. When the H-10 hotels took it over they did a nice job remodeling the hotel and now it is even better. The location, right on the sea in Miramar is spectacular as are the views from the upper rooms. Service is quick and everyone seems to have a smile on their face. Many Europeans stay at the Panorama mainly because it is a good value for the money. The Melia Habana, which we have stayed at many times in the past is only two blocks away, but nearly twice as expensive! The wi-fi is terrific at the Panorama - as fast as it gets in Cuba or anywhere else. We have found that by paying a little extra you can stay in one of the Privilege Rooms on the top 3 floors. This allows you to utilize this beautiful dining room on the top floor (11th floor) for a very private breakfast. The view of the sea is beautiful and you can look back the other way and see all of Havana. Although the Panorama is out in Miramar, it is easy to get into Old Havana. Cab rides are never more than 10-15 CUC and there are free shuttle buses at certain times too, but you have to ask about these at the front desk. It is only a 10-15 minute taxi ride into Old Havana so we often just took a taxi. The restaurants right there in the Panorama are excellent and inexpensive. A very nice breakfast is included with the price of the room and it is especially pleasant to have breakfast in the Privilege dining room with such a stunning view of the sea. Other guests can arrange to eat in the Priviege room for dinner and this is nice too. We found that there is a very good salon in the Panorama, where my wife had her hair done several times, and I actually got a very good haircut. In addition there is a good rental car company there, where we have rented cars at less than what we paid in other hotels. The cars were excellent too - Renault and Peugeot mostly with some Chinese cars that were not that bad either. Rental cars ran about $80 a day with everything. The Panorama Privilege Room was so nice that we actually had our wedding there on April 8th, 2014. The management went all out to insure that we all had a great time. We did this just before the normal evening dinner so the gal that always is there playing the piano was on hand to play for us. It was wonderful. Then our whole wedding group stayed on for dinner and we had a wonderful time with lots of succulent appetizers they made up special for our group. We'll be back, that's for sure.

    “Not too bad but . . . ”
The H10 (that's the hotel chain's name) Habana Panorama is way out of the old city of Havanna in a dull and deserted hotel area but it does provide a free shuttle bus a few times a day to the city center to compensate for that. One of the rare free offers for tourists in Cuba... But at the same time nobody there tells you that the red hop-on-hop-off doubledecker sightseeing bus has a stop about a hundred yards away from the hotel ? daily every 30 mins for only 5 CUC for a hole day of sightseeing with Spanish and English explanations. If every tourist knew that it would, of course, impair the sale of the much more expensive organised sightseeing tours. Apart from that the foreigner is apparently considered a milk cow for hard currency bounty as high as possible: every price for foreigners in Cuba seems to be inflated due to their governmental tourist currency double standard policy (the so called CUC - Cuban convertible currency) which creates a parallel world of inflated tourist prices which are not really adequate for what is being offered in that country. Interesting that enough tourists seem to tacitly accept that double standard which has the evident objective of a discreet foreigners' ripp-off. In this pattern the hotel H10 Habanna Panorama is certainly not really bad: the rates are - in comparison with their local peers - sort of acceptable, the front desk, however, appears to be understaffed when there are many new arrivals from charter flights in the evenings and overstaffed during the day. The staff itself appears qualified and willing to be helpful - in their tight given limits. The first room inspection after arrival in the evening brought up three defects: room safe, lamp bulb, fridge, But the front desk staff was at least quite zealous to have it fixed soon. The internet usage offer can only be called an effrontery as they are charging an audacious 6 CUC ( approx. 8 US$ !) per . . . no, not per week and not per day but . . . per hour usage time! That fits into the general Cuban concept of milking foreign tourists wherever possible. But then the internet access vouchers are sometimes even not available - only "maybe tomorrow" unless you take a good walk to buy them yourself in another hotel in the area which uses the same - governmental? ? internet provider. Different from other opinions I must say that the hotel's breakfast was more than adequate for the rate; apart from the initial defects described above the hotel room was large and in a modest way sufficiently equipped, the aircon worked flawlessly though the other hotel standards and general amenities were not too competetive for this slightly upscale priced holiday destination but as the guests are mainly package tourists they do not really know to whom they are paying what and thus take things as given. Altogether: the hotel appears somewhat above mediocre and thus is for Cuban standards not too bad. And: a compliment to the mostly very dedicated hotel staff is truly justified.

This was the best hotel we could have ever stayed at in Havana mainly due to our wonderful hotel manager Danisbel. She was very informed, kind and effervescent. She set up a beautiful driving tour for hours and walking through the old city. We learned so much about the beautiful Havana and visited all of the major monuments. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the water with a massive balcony, and separate living/sleeping quarters. Nice and clean hotel. Well-furnished room and lovely large bathroom with heaps of hot water and towels. The beds were uncomfortable, thin hard mattresses. Excellent breakfast buffet is included in the price. And an equally nice dinner buffet, well worth the extra cost. Far away from downtown, but has a free shuttle to town which is nice. Cost of a taxi is ten cucs each way, 15 cucs at night. Use government taxis preferrably, some of the other taxis are in poor shape. Nice pool area. Nice view from the room. Close to the water for a walk along a lpromenade. The promenade is a bit damaged du to a previous storm, but still very nice. Locals come to swim, snorkel, fish and to hang out in the area by the sea, which is very nice. A good hotel at a good value.

Loved our housekeeper Cora(?) who told us about the grocery store across the road. Clean, comfortable, lots of hot water. I am totally impressed at all the languages the staff can speak! “Enjoyed our stay at the Habana Panorama ”
We booked a seven-night stay at the Habana Panorama in February 2014 and we are glad we did so. We met other visitors who were staying at nearby hotels, and some said that they had no hot water. The hotel is in the Miramar section of Havana, a much more quiet area of the city. A supermarket is only a five-minute walk away if you need bottled water, wine, etc. This is not a sandy beach hotel. The water is there, but the beach area is rough. People relax at the pool. At the Habana Panorama we had absolutely no problems. We appreciated our clean, comfortable, air-conditioned spacious guestroom after our daily visiting of Havana and elsewhere. We had an ocean view, as do most rooms there. The shuttle bus provided free-of-charge was most convenient and on time. We took it at 10:35 every morning. A trip to Old Havana took about 25-30 minutes, and we enjoyed seeing the other neighbourhoods before arriving in Old Havana. The driver did not always take the same route to get there which made it more interesting. We usually only ate breakfast (buffet) at the hotel, but two nights we did eat there too. One night at the Italian restaurant which was alright, the other night in the hotel dining room which was featuring Mexican food and we actually found it good. We had to pay 15 CUC each for the dining room dinner which did include a glass of wine or beer. Only breakfasts were included in our plan because that is what we requested. Generally, the staff were friendly and always aimed to please the guests. The only person who was somewhat unfriendly was the girl at the money exchange wicket in the lobby. Maybe I wouldn't have a smile on my face either if I had to change people's currency all day long too! All in all, we are happy with our stay at the Habana Panorama. One aspect that we appreciated was how quiet the nights were so that we had no problems sleeping. We met some visitors staying at some casas particulares who were in Old Havana and found their nightbourhoods very noisy, so try to get some information about where you're staying before booking in the city.

    “An average experience ”
We just came back from Cuba and stayed at Panorama for 7 nights. First of all, my husband and I have different views about this hotel. He thinks that when in developing countries, adjust your expectations. For him, in these countries, if the hotel meets his basic requirements of having hot water, good water pressure and air-conditioning (important for tropical climate), he's happy. For me, cleanliness is key. Yes, Panorama met my husband's basic requirements. The air-conditioning was so quiet too! Cleanliness? I don't know. Things appeared to be clean, but I know that they cleaned with their eyes. In our 2nd evening, I noticed that the hair left after our morning showers were still in the tub. Meaning, the tub wasn't cleaned that day. I went down and told the Reception. He said he would send someone right away. I told him there's no need and that as long as they did it the next day, I would be happy. Sure enough, it was cleaned the next day. Then in the morning on the 4th day, we woke up to find water on the floor at the entrance to the bathroom--the ceiling was leaking. We phoned and they said they would send someone to fix it. Don't know if they did or not, because we went out and didn't return until late evening. The water was all cleaned up. Two evenings later, the bathroom ceiling leaked again!! I heard the dripping of the water throughout the night. In the morning, I phoned and asked for a change of room and was told to go to the Reception. The Reception desk was busy with long line-ups every time I looked. We didn't want to waste any time and went out to play. By the time we got back in the evening, I was too tired to think about changing to another room. What I did notice was that though most of the water was cleaned up, they missed a puddle that's off to the side of the door. From this, wouldn't you draw the conclusion that their general cleaning does not include the cleaning of the entire bathroom floor? That's what I meant by their cleaning with their eyes. Also, I know as a fact that the soap and toothpaste stains on the tap and mirror were not cleaned daily. It's hit and miss. I am not complaining about our cleaning maid, because I found her friendly and pleasant. Rather, I wonder about their training and what's expected of them. One thing the hotel MUST resolve is, one of the front entrance guys who took care of guests' transportation (getting us cabs and notifying us of the arrival of the free shuttle) regularly tried to rip guests off. We had two times and another guest told us of one time when this guy told us it's 12 CUCs for a cab to go the Old Town. In fact, everybody knows that it's 10 CUC. Meaning, he would pocket part of the money. We paid extra to get an ocean view room, which also placed us on the pool side of the hotel. Guess what? Every night they had either recorded or live music by the pool and we heard every single bit of it. (We were on the 6th floor) Mind you, this was Cuban music, rhythmic, upbeat and loud. I love Cuban music, but not when I tried to sleep. Last Sunday night, the music went on and on, was louder than the other nights, and didn't stop till close to midnight! The reception staff tried to be helpful, but they seemed overworked. There were always guests checking in and out and long line-ups. It seemed like they just didn't have the time to be friendly. We learned to ask quick questions to get what we needed and help them move along faster. Regarding breakfast, I don't think we could expect gourmet food from average hotels. At least this one had a huge variety of hot and cold food to choose from and tried to add a few different things every day. (Ten times better than your average Holiday Inn/Best Western breakfasts!) I liked that their coffee was acceptable (dispensed from a machine with choices of black coffee, café con leche, hot milk, and hot chocolate), baguettes were already fresh, and eggs/omelettes cooked to order. Plenty of fresh fruits! Yes, sometimes they couldn't keep up with the cleaning, but, really, I just ate and run. This hotel is a bit far from all the tourist sights. They provide a free shuttle that runs at 9:10, 10:35, 1:30ish, and 6:30ish to the Old Town. It's definitely not frequent enough. So you probably need to supplement it with taxis. Or take a Hop-on Hop-off tourist bus that comes around the hotel about every 20 min + (Cuban time is never exact nor punctual). Costs 5 CUC a day. You can get on and off throughout the day until 6 pm. We usually take a free shuttle in the morning to town and then taxi back at night. If we needed to come back during the day and head out again and couldn't catch the free shuttle, that's another 10 CUC each way. All in all, you have to budget extra $ for this transportation issue.

Built by the sea, the Panorama Hotel is located in the residential neighborhood of Miramar, where most commercial firms and embassies have their offices. The establishment is 18 kilometers away from José Martí International Airport and provides guests with all modern amenities for leisure, in addition to special offers for couples. Its location across from the Miramar Trade Center turns the hotel into an excellent choice for businesspeople. It is relatively near Old Havana and very close to the National Aquarium of Cuba.

    our tour was excellent
My wife and I stayed at the Oasis Panorama in January 2011, and enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast buffet that came with our tour was excellent -- particularly the fresh orange juice. You can arrange to eat there inexpensively for the evening buffet too. The review of Gael (age 42 from Ontario) is accurate except that the German restaurant no longer exists. The Italian one in the lobby is very good and has excellent service. I loved the risotto! Most clotheshangers in our room were worn or broken and couldn't even support a shirt without falling. Cheerfully installed replacements are just as bad. It would be good to bring some hangers of your own. There is a place to change money off the lobby, and there is another one a few blocks from the hotel near a store for food and essentials. I would stay there again, except it is a bit far from the interesting parts of Havana. You may need a windbreaker in January: it was too cool and windy to swim in the pool during our stay.

    Recommendable
The hotel is modern, with large and comfortable rooms. The pool is nice and large. What I didn't like were the restaurants, because there wasn't that much variety and the quality of the food was NOT very good. Generally speaking, the hotel is very good and so are the services. panorama hotel
Initially I was upset as travel company had said the hotel was 5km from Havana Centro when it was nearer 15km but this was a perfect base for our 2 week stay. staff were excellent particularly our maid Melvis and Sergio the barman at the pool. The money exchange bureau was a great convenience.Thank you to the hotel for making it a special stay. Visitors from UK with Thomas Cook should be aware that they don't often use this hotel so guests may feel isolated.

    Excellent, good service
Hi, we would like to comment on our stay at the Hotel Oasis Panorama. The two of us were really impressed with everything, the room, the chambermaid, breakfast on the 11th floor, everything was great, even the beautifull figures they made with the towels. The excursions were well organized and the service and attention in general was really good. We will be back and we recommend this hotel to all our friends.
